Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Department in Nizamabad District is located at Kotagally, Shivajinagar is headed by the District Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Officer to look after the administration, located at District head quarter. He is assisted by the Assistant Director (V&AH), O/o DV&AHO, who is responsible for administrative and technical control of the field units for (36) Primary Veterinary Centers, (41) Sub Centers (Animal Health) under respective jurisdiction. However the Assistant Director(V&AH), District Veterinary Hospital and the Assistant Directors (V&AH), (4) Area Veterinary Hospitals are functioning directly under the administrative control of the District Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Officer, Nizamabad.

February 2020 to 31st July 2020 (1st Round FMD -NADCP) Completed. - Brucellosis – Scheduled from 17.08.2021 to 16.09.2021. One–time vaccination
against brucellosis in all female calves (4-8 months) is envisaged under National Animal Disease Control Programme (NADCP) for Brucellosis.
The Government has introduced the “Sheep Rearing Development Scheme for shepherd Communities” in the state with financial assistance of NCDC and distributing Sheep Units on 75% subsidy to the eligible members of Primary Sheep Breeders Cooperative Societies.

The unit cost of Sheep unit is enhanced from Rs.1,25,000/- to Rs.1,75,000/- and awaiting guidelines for distribution of Sheep Units.
Earlier, (1073) DDs (Beneficiary contribution) were deposited in the District Collector’s Bank account under SRDP.
In this programme, 8,61,613 Sheep/Goats dewormed during the period from 06.08.2021 to 13.08.2021 on free of cost in the district. 46 Teams have been formed to carry out this Programme.
(50) Iron tubular Trevises were procured with financial assistance of District Collector, Nizamabad and supplied to concerned villages in the district.
The Government is supplying Fodder Seed on 75% subsidy for fodder development in the district under AFDP, CSS and Plan Schemes.
The Government is supplying Power Operated Chaff Cutters on subsidy basis. And (32) Chaff Cutters supplied during the year 2020-21.
